Skin Regimen’s new Recharging Mist protects skin from blue light

Due to the pandemic, working from home and huge amounts of screen time have become the new normal.

This habit has led our skin to face a new potentially harmful element: blue light, also known as High Energy Visible Light (HEV).

Blue light has a slightly shorter wavelength than ultraviolet light (UV) and is known to cause wrinkles and skin laxity, dehydration, dullness and brown spots.

It’s also been proven to contribute to skin ageing caused by the generation of free radicals known to trigger oxidative damage.

The best way to prevent further skin damage from exposure to blue light from screens is the same as preventing skin damage in general: wearing sunscreen.

As everyone may not want to wear sunscreen indoors, Skin Regimen has introduced the Recharging Mist, a protective, antioxidant and moisturising mist that instantly hydrates and refreshes stressed skin.

The mist relies on the brand’s signature Longevity Complex to reduce inflammation and counter oxidation, while its Biotech Fermented Extract is also included to protect and shield skin from blue light damage throughout the day.

“Unlike the sun, screens emitting blue light are much closer to your face, meaning blue light can penetrate deeper into the skin, leading to fine lines, dark spots and wrinkles, as well as premature ageing,” explained Barbara Gavazzoli, communication and education director at Comfort Zone.

“The skin needs to be protected from blue light because although the damage won’t be immediately visible, it will definitely cause undesired signs of ageing.”

Formulated with 99.2 per cent ingredients of natural origin and an uplifting aroma of rose and lavender, the mist can be used over makeup for an extra glow and reapplied throughout the day.
